Crotched Mountain Foundation Names Melissa White Chief of School and Community Living
Seasoned non-profit leader will assume newly-created role in late August
GREENFIELD, NH – The Crotched Mountain Foundation announces that Melissa White, MPA, HS-BCP, has been named chief of school and community living. This is a newly-created role which unites Crotched Mountain’s two largest programs: Crotched Mountain School and Residential Services.

She has a deep commitment to human service, a track record of success in very diverse organizations, and her leadership style is characterized by intelligence, creativity and inclusion,” said Michael Coughlin, president and CEO, Crotched Mountain Foundation. “I believe Melissa will make a strong contribution to the future we are working to build for Crotched Mountain and the people we serve.”
Prior to joining Crotched Mountain, White served as various leadership roles with Venture Community Services, Inc. in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, most recently as vice president of community and affiliate services. Prior to that, she served five years as Venture’s director of quality assurance and behavioral health. She has also served other human-service non-profits including Overlook Life Care Community in Massachusetts and Maple Lane Nursing Home in Barton, Vermont, and has experience in human resources, marketing and community relations.
In addition to her professional leadership roles, White has been an active community volunteer, serving on boards of directors, including the Central Massachusetts South Chamber of Commerce, for which she served as chair in her most recent two-year appointment and Habitat for Humanity Metro West-Greater Worcester. She served Harrington Healthcare Systems, Harrington Hospital as a member.

White holds a master of Public Administration (MPA)-Healthcare Management from Anna Maria College in Paxton, MA, and a bachelor of science in business administration from Becker College in Worcester. She also holds a degree in therapeutic recreation from the Community College of Vermont and is a Human Services Board Certified Practitioner (HS-BCP). White will assume her new role at Crotched Mountain in late August.
