Miles Forma, an alum of Crothed Mountain School, was invited to speak at a United Nations event on Wednesday, June 12, during the Conference of States Parties. Miles spoke to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. He participated on a panel discussion titled “People with Communication Disability Speak Up for Inclusion and Participation: How the Implementation of the CRPD and the SDGs can Support this Right.”
Organizers of the Event were Speech Pathology Australia, Royal College of Speech Language Therapists, International Communication Project (ICP), Humanity and Inclusion, UK. Miles is a renowned disabiity rights activist and has been an educator and advocate for freedom to communicate for people with disabilities for over a decade. He teaches at numerous colleges, universities and schools in the New York area.
Miles has spoken numerous times at his old alma mater, Crotched Mountain School.
